  • Thomas Livergood

    Thomas Livergood, Founder & Chief Executive Officer

    Thomas Livergood is Founder & Chief Executive of The Family Wealth Alliance. Tom and the firm have been recognized as an innovative leader in the family wealth space. In 2011, the firm was bestowed the “Outstanding Contribution Award” by Private Asset Management at its annual black tie gala in New York. Later that year, Tom was named by the same organization to its “Power 25.” He was again honored in 2012 as one of six pioneers in winning Family Office Review’s inaugural “Industry Leadership Award” and in 2014, the same organization bestowed The Alliance with the “Family Office Organization of the Year” award.


    Tom has been quoted in Barron's, Business Week, Financial Times, the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post and numerous other trade, popular print, broadcast, and online media. He has been asked to write a number of reviews, including those which have appeared in the following books: Family Wealth: Keeping It in the Family © 2004, authored by Jay Hughes; The Stewardship of Wealth © 2012, written by Greg Curtis; and The Complete Family Office Handbook © 2014, authored by Kirby Rosplock. In addition, Tom has been interviewed live on Fox News Network, WGN Radio, and Voice of America.

    Campden Wealth asked Tom to speak at both its European and Asia Pacific Family Office Conferences in London and Hong Kong, respectively, and he has twice been a panelist at the Milken Institute’s Annual Global Conference in Beverly Hills. Tom was the opening session speaker at the IIR Family Office Forum and has spoken at the IMCA National Conference, the Schwab IMPACT Conference, and he has been the lead-off faculty member for the Chubb Advanced School and a guest faculty member for The Northern Trust Wealth Advisor Summit. In addition, he has addressed the annual meetings and special gatherings by invitation from organizations such as Brinker Capital, HUB International, Marsh, Pitcairn, and State Street Corporation, as well as the Alpha Group.

    Prior to founding The Alliance in 2003, Tom was a Director at Family Office Exchange during the early 2000s, a Vice President at The Harris Private Bank during the 1990s, and a financial planner at CIGNA Financial Services during the 1980s. Among many volunteer positions, he served on the founding national board of the 30,000-member Financial Planning Association (FPA) during its merger of two predecessor organizations. In the mid-1990s, Tom was named three times by Worth magazine as one of the Top 300 Financial Advisors in North America. A double graduate of Bradley University, he holds the BA degree in Liberal Arts (1977) and the MBA in Finance (1979).

  • Robert Casey

    Robert Casey, Senior Managing Director of Research

    Robert Casey is Senior Managing Director of Research for The Family Wealth Alliance. He leads all of the firm’s Alliance Research activities, as well as serving on certain consulting assignments and in presenting the findings of The Alliance’s research and insights at various Alliance and third party gatherings.

    Previously, Bob developed Wealth Manager magazine and served as founding editor until its sale by Bloomberg LP in 2005. He is the former managing editor of American Banker, founding editor of Your Company magazine (now Fortune Small Business) and the original planning editor of Money for USA Today. He is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (MBA), the Medill School of Journalism of Northwestern University (BS, MS) and holds a certificate in financial planning from New York University.

  • Christine Norkaitis

    Christine Norkaitis, Managing Director of Relationship Management & Operations

    Christine Norkaitis is a Managing Director for The Family Wealth Alliance. In this capacity, Christine is responsible for member and partner relations, consulting work, firm financial management, business workflow and day-to-day operational oversight. Christine rejoined The Alliance in 2014 after having previously worked for the firm in 2005. Her background encompasses a range of roles working with families as well as a focus on Education where her specialties include guidance counseling and thought leadership in Response to Intervention (RTI) and Evaluation Techniques.

    Christine received her BA from Elmhurst College and two Masters Degrees from Lewis University – one in School Counseling and one in Educational Leadership with a Principal Endorsement. Christine is a member of ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development), IPA (Illinois Principals Association) and ICA (Illinois Counseling Association) and has written and spoken nationally on the topic of Bullying Intervention. She is fluent in Lithuanian.

  • Mary Rowland

    Mary Rowland, Senior Writing Consultant

    Mary Rowland is a Senior Writing Consultant for The Family Wealth Alliance. She has been a journalist for 30 years, a half dozen of them as weekly columnist for the Sunday New York Times. She currently writes a regular column for Financial Advisor magazine. She wrote a column on practice management, “Practice Points,” for the Bloomberg Wealth Manager, a magazine for financial advisors, for seven years. Her articles and essays have appeared in Fortune, Business Week, USA Today, Ladies’ Home Journal, Family Circle, Woman’s Day, and many other publications.

    She speaks frequently about money and values. She did a six-week national book tour for her second book, The Commonsense Guide to Mutual Funds. Her sixth book, The New Commonsense Guide to Your 401 (k): Rebuilding Your Portfolio From the Bottom Up, was published in 2010. She has written two books for financial advisors, Best Practices For Financial Advisors (1998) and In Search of The Perfect Model (2002); she traveled throughout the U.S. and to Europe to speak about them. She also co-hosted a weekly national radio call-in show about investing and personal finance. Mary received a Master of Fine Arts in fiction writing from Vermont College in 2002 and is currently studying theology at Bard College. She has a B.A. and M.A. in Russian history.

  • Barbara Nestingen

    Barbara Nestingen, Communications Consultant

    Barbara Nestingen is a Communications Consultant for The Family Wealth Alliance. In this role, Barbara is responsible for writing and coordinating publications for the website, The Alliance Security Council and The Alliance Report as well as overseeing communications that support the corporate mission. In addition to her duties with The Alliance, she serves as an Election Official for the City of Mequon, Wisconsin and is the Vice President of the Mensa of Wisconsin Foundation (MOWF).

    Prior to joining The Alliance, Barbara's career included communications positions with Jacobus Wealth Management, Associates for Health Care and The American Red Cross. She was also selected as a “Staff-On-Loan in Communications” to the Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland. Barbara received her BA from the University of Wisconsin-EauClaire, her Masters in Social Work from UW-Milwaukee and her Masters in Arts from California State University-East Bay. She is also a graduate of Future Milwaukee – a business leadership program offered by Marquette University’s School of Professional Studies.

  • Deborah Spoelma Livergood


    Deborah Spoelma Livergood, Office Assistant

    Deborah Spoelma Livergood is an Office Assistant for The Family Wealth Alliance. Her primary role is coordinating materials, logistics and related activities for the various annual conferences, member forums and special events hosted by The Alliance throughout the year.

    Prior to joining The Alliance, Debbie was the owner of Naturals Design Studio, a retail and interior design business in Lansing, Michigan that specialized in lifelike botanical arrangements and unique accessories for commercial businesses and home owners. In addition to her business management background, Debbie has worked in the Medical industry as well.

    Debbie attended Michigan State University and received her BA from Western Michigan University.

  • Janet St. Clair

     Kati Jendraszak, Operations Associate

    Kati Jendraszak is an Associate for The Family Wealth Alliance and the newest member to the team. In this role, Kati is responsible for assisting, organizing, prioritizing and helping to execute the firm’s day to day business operations. Her background encompasses a range of roles including a focus on Higher Education where her specialties centered around student affairs, counseling, crisis response/intervention, event planning and strategic planning. Kati received her BA in Psychology, from Concordia University Chicago and her Master’s Degrees in Education Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi. Kati is excited about her new journey with The Family Wealth Alliance and is eager to see what the future has in store.
