Since our origin in 2003, The Family Wealth Alliance community has touched all aspects of the multifamily wealth industry and made a positive difference in the businesses of hundreds of family wealth firms.




Together with our members, we have curated a collaborative, peer-led community united by shared values and fueled by a desire to serve clients and the industry at the highest level.

Why we're different

We are the only membership organization focused exclusively on North American multifamily wealth firms.
This includes MFOs, external CIOs, high-end wealth
management firms, trust companies, and the family office practices of law and accounting firms. We also welcome developed, professionally-run SFOs.

We are strictly B2B. We do not target private families for membership or event attendance, avoiding competing constituencies. 

We create a welcoming, peer-driven atmosphere.
Our community is built around intentional connection and collaboration. Our gatherings are intimate and purposeful – no large auditoriums or exhibition halls.

Our network is broad and deep. Our family wealth firms serve approximately 50,000 private families and advise on approximately $750 Billion of assets.

Our membership is selective. We represent the epicenter of industry thought leadership, attracting and retaining true leaders and helping them build and foster key relationships.

our strength

After releasing more than 25 industry reports since 2003, Alliance Research has established itself as the authority on North American multifamily offices. We are experts on this complex landscape: its nuances, major challenges, and best practices. Since our founding, we have tracked the family wealth competitive landscape, published benchmarking studies, and synthesized industry trends and implications.

We released the first public listing and study of multifamily offices in North America in 2004 and established the first Multifamily Office Standards in 2005. Using a four-dimensional approach, these standards spoke to how firms could establish themselves as leaders in the multifamily wealth category. The ten core services we outlined are consistently referred to today as the gold standard of what should be provided to private clients.
