9:10am: The Great Wealth Transfer: Capturing Money in Motion

In the United States, most of the wealth passed down by older generations will flow to Gen X or Millennial heirs. With a collective $85 trillion passing to these generations, it’s never been clearer that advisors who establish relationships with rising generation clients and adequately address their needs will be well positioned for success.

Chayce Horton, Senior Analyst at Cerulli, will share insights from The Cerulli Report—U.S. High-Net-Worth and Ultra-High-Net-Worth Markets 2024, zeroing in on the UHNW demographic and setting the stage for our program. Attendees will learn the biggest trends shaping the UHNW landscape and understand evolving service and technology preferences among the next generation of investors, including winning business models and best practices to engage these clients.

9:40 am: Bridging the Gap: Understanding Generational Differences

In the midst of the impending wealth transfer, it is crucial for advisors to maintain strong ties with current clients while proactively engaging and building trust with the rising generation. The key to both lies in understanding the unique needs, values, and communication preferences of each generation.

Featuring a dynamic father-son speaking team, this keynote will provide surprising insights into the distinct characteristics and expectations of Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Gen Z. Attendees will learn how to tailor their messaging, build trust through transparency and personalization, and connect effectively with every generation. By understanding and appealing to the diverse needs of clients in different age brackets, you'll deepen client relationships at every touch point, driving sustainable growth.

10:50 am: Best Practices for Integrating Life Partners

The integration of a new partner into an ultra-high-net-worth family is a pivotal and often intricate process. This session will increase your confidence in navigating the unique challenges and opportunities that arise when someone new joins the family.

Covie Edwards-Pitt and Alexys Febonio, both from The Center for Family Well-being at Ballentine Partners, will share three key lessons for advisors. Drawing from their extensive experience and direct insights from the rising generation, they will debunk common misconceptions and introduce a fresh, effective approach to supporting newly integrated spouses and partners.

  • Alexys Febonio, Wealth Planner & Associate Director of The Center for Family Well-being, Ballentine Partners

11:20 am: Rising Gen Clients: What Do They Want?

In this engaging panel discussion, UHNW clients themselves will share candid insights into what makes for a successful client-advisor relationship and what keeps them loyal to their advisors. Panelists will outline key beliefs and behaviors that distinguish the rising generation, including their views on technology, client experience, social impact, and more. Discover best practices for long-term client satisfaction and loyalty and participate in an interactive Q&A session to ask your most pressing questions directly to clients.

This session is designed to help multifamily office practitioners better connect with and serve the next generation of UHNW clients, ensuring your advice remains relevant in an ever-evolving landscape.
